Emily Chesnut

President

Email Emily Chesnut

Emily Chesnut is serving her second term on the Board. She began serving in January 2020 and her most recent term ends Dec. 31, 2027.

Chesnut works as a Sr Project Manager in Information Services at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She was awarded the “Young Professional of the Year” Award from Children’s in 2016. She also served for 8 years as a Board Member for the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities and serves on the Government Affairs Committee for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati. 

Together with her husband Brian, they have four children, who all began their educational careers at Milford Preschool at age 3. Their youngest will graduate from Milford High School in 2031. The family has lived in Milford since 2008. 

Chesnut has a passion for advocating not only for her daughter who has Down syndrome, but for all who have special needs. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, especially making coordinating Halloween costumes for her family. 

Her goals while on the Board are to increase effective Board communications, especially communication efforts directed toward residents who do not have children currently attending school in the district.

Emily Mason

Vice President

Email Emily Mason

Emily Mason is serving her first term on the Board. She was elected in 2021, and her term ends on Dec. 31, 2025.

Mason and her husband moved to the Milford community in 2013. She currently has two boys who are attending Seipelt Elementary.

She has served on the Seipelt PTA, Seipelt Yearbook Coordinator, Scouting BSA Leader and Hiking Coordinator.

She currently works in branding as a graphic designer and has done this for 20 years.

Her goal as a board member is to make sure that every child in Milford gets the best education they can possibly get. This means taking care of the intellectual, social and emotional learning gaps caused by the irregularity of the past two years. She said she will do this by making sure we are listening to teachers and parents and leveraging some of the innovative solutions we have come up with during the pandemic. 

She said she will also make sure the Board continues to act with fiscal responsibility both in the creation of our new middle school as well as in the day-to-day operations of the district.

In her free time, Mason is a marathoner and is currently training for her first 50-mile ultra-marathon. She also sews clothing, quilts, knits and does cross-stitch and embroidery.

Myra Powers

Email Myra Powers

Myra Powers is serving her first term on the Milford School Board, having been elected in 2023. Her term ends Dec. 31, 2027. Bringing over 40 years of experience in Milford Schools, Powers has an extensive background in general, gifted, and special education.

Powers was named the Milford/Miami Township Educator of the Year in 2000 and is a National Board Certified Middle Childhood Generalist. She has been deeply committed to her students, extending her efforts beyond the classroom by providing turoting and other supports after school and on weekends at no cost.

Powers is actively engaged in community service. She plays a significant role in the Milford Schools Foundation and is a dedicated volunteer with Feed Our Flock, demonstrating her commitment to the broader welfare of the Milford community.

As a board member, Powers prioritizes the safety and well-being of all students and staff. She advocates for fiscal responsibility and a non-partisan, collaborative approach in board decision-making. Powers is driven by the belief that excellent schools are the cornerstone of a thriving community.

Mary Anne Will

Email Mary Anne Will

Mary Anne Will joined the Milford School Board in January 2024, appointed to fill a vacancy and set to serve the remainder of the term through Dec. 31, 2025.

A proud graduate of Milford High School, she is not only a former employee at Milford Junior High School but also a parent, grandparent, and aunt to seven Milford High School graduates, cementing her long-standing commitment to the district. Her previous tenure on the Milford Board of Education from 1985-1999 showcases her enduring dedication to educational excellence in the community.

Will's leadership extended beyond the Milford district. She served on the Great Oaks Board of Education from 1989-1999 and was the founding President of the Great Oaks Education Foundation from 1999-2010. Her commitment to education and community enrichment continued with her involvement in the Milford Schools Foundation, where she has served as a board member since 2010 and served as its President from 2011 to 2023.

Her additional volunteer activities include serving as Vice President of Sparrow Charities, Board Member of the Traverse Creek Homeowners Association since 2022, Treasurer for Kingdom Warriors, and Board Member for SEM Haven Health & Residential Care Center. Mary Ann Will's diverse leadership roles also encompass the Milford Schools Diversity Task Force, fundraising initiatives for Live Oaks students' robotics competition, the Ohio Cooperative Education Association, and the United Way Campaign as Clermont County Area Chairman.

As a board member, Will is focused on leveraging her extensive experience to continue enriching the educational landscape of Milford Schools. She is committed to fostering strong partnerships and ensuring that every student in Milford receives the highest quality education, preparing them for future success.

Michael Wilson

Michael Wilson joined the Milford School Board in January 2024, appointed to fill a vacancy and set to serve the remainder of the term through Dec. 31, 2025. 

Wilson's community engagement is extensive, having served as a Life Coach at Mentoring Plus, President of the Terrace Ridge HOA Board of Directors, and as a Board Member and Volunteer Coordinator for the Milford Basketball Association. Michael is also certified as a Nonprofit Board Leader and is active in the Oddfellows Fraternal Organization

Professionally, Wilson is an experienced sales executive in educational IT solutions, with over 11 years of working closely with K-12 and higher education institutions. His expertise in managing comprehensive digital modernization projects provides a nuanced understanding of the educational sector's unique needs and challenges. 

Dedicated to open communication, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making, Wilson is a strong advocate for uniting various school and community stakeholders. He is deeply committed to optimizing financial resources for maximum educational impact and believes in the transformative power of education. His goal is to ensure that every child in Milford has the opportunity to reach their full potential and is committed to making decisions that prioritize their success and well-being.
