Milford Schools Board of Education announces the appointment of Michael Wilson to the Board, effective January 24, 2024. Filling a vacancy from earlier in January, Mr. Wilson will serve the board through a term ending December 31, 2025.
Wilson's involvement in the community is significant, having served as a Life Coach at Mentoring Plus, President of the Terrace Ridge HOA Board of Directors, and as a Board Member and Volunteer Coordinator for the Milford Basketball Association. He is also a certified Nonprofit Board Leader and an active member of the Oddfellows Fraternal Organization.
Professionally, Wilson is a seasoned sales executive in educational IT solutions, with over 11 years of experience working with K-12 and higher education institutions. His expertise in managing comprehensive digital modernization projects has given him a nuanced understanding of the educational sector's unique needs and challenges.
Board President Emily Chesnut spoke highly of Wilson’s appointment. “Michael Wilson’s broad background as a parent, community member and volunteer, coupled with his professional commitment to K-12 education technology makes him a great addition to our board,” Chesnut said. “We are facing important decisions on funding the district, while maintaining our focus on students, and Mr. Wilson’s professional and personal experience bring a unique point of view to the conversations. Mr. Wilson is dedicated to communication, collaboration and data-driven decisions and we look forward to working together with our full board in place.”
