Ohio's annual sales tax holiday has grown to 10 days, just in time for back-to-school shopping.
A provision in Ohio's budget added more tax-free days to this year’s holiday, now running Tuesday, July 30 to Thursday, Aug. 8.
According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, the sales tax waiver will cover all tangible persona property that is $500 or less. Watercraft, vehicles, alcohol, tobacco, vapor products and items containing marijuana are not included in the holiday. See more information on the Dept. of Taxations website.
There is no limit on the amount of the total purchase. The qualification is determined item by item.
Any qualifying items purchased online during the 10-day holiday will be tax exempt. Shipping and handling costs are also tax free. This is a bonus for Milford shoppers who are taking advantage of the new TeacherLists school supply lists for the 2024-2025 school year. View them here.
