Milford Exempted Village School District (MEVSD) proudly announces the appointment of Doug Ackermann as the District’s new Treasurer, following a unanimous decision by the Board of Education at its November 7 meeting. Ackermann joins Milford with over 30 years of financial leadership experience in both business and educational settings, poised to bring a wealth of expertise in school finance and fiscal stewardship.
As a born-and-raised Milford resident, Doug is especially excited to support the community that helped shape him. He looks forward to returning the favor by helping to ensure the district’s financial success. The Board of Education has expressed complete confidence in Doug’s ability to further strengthen Milford’s financial foundation.
Most recently, Ackermann served as Treasurer for Lockland Local School District, where he led critical financial reforms that enhanced the district’s fiscal health and efficiency. His achievements include restructuring grants to save $400,000, joining an energy consortium to cut costs, and securing an improved financial rating for the district. Ackermann was instrumental in removing Lockland from Fiscal Caution within two and a half years, while also working on strategic initiatives that ensured long-term stability.
Ackermann, who holds a degree in Economics from The College of Wooster and specialized training in Government and Non-Profit Accounting from Xavier University, also has a longstanding commitment to supporting education through careful fiscal management and collaborative leadership.
The Board of Education expressed confidence that Ackermann’s expertise and dedication will enhance the district’s financial operations, reinforcing Milford Schools’ mission to serve its students, staff, and community. The MEVSD community is invited to join in welcoming Doug Ackermann as he officially begins his role with Milford Exempted Village Schools.
