Jared Minderman new boys soccer head coach

The Milford High School Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Jared Minderman will become the school’s new head boys soccer coach, pending approval of the Milford Exempted Village School District board this spring. Minderman will begin working as head coach during the offseason to prepare for the upcoming year. Minderman has spent the past four seasons as a Milford assistant, including the last two years as the varsity assistant coach.

Minderman arrived in Milford in 2021 as a junior varsity B coach, a role he held for two seasons. His great potential saw him elevated to varsity assistant in time for the 2023 season, where he assisted Brian Croston in leading the Eagles to 22-9-5 record over the past two seasons. The 2024 Eagles finished as OHSAA District Runners-up. The last two season have seen the Eagles earn 13 All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference honors, while Nick Henke was chosen the conference player of the year and an All-Ohio recipient this fall.

"Coach Minderman is a rising young professional in the coaching field and we are so fortunate to have him to lead our young men,” stated Milford Director of Athletics Aaron Zupka. “His fast movement through the ranks of our program is testament to his ambition to learn, grow, and ultimately lead others. Milford Boys Soccer has a strong and prestigious history of success and I'm extremely confident in Coach Minderman's ability to guide and direct our program to new and unprecedented heights.

“The interview committee was extremely impressed with his vision of the program, his infectious personality, creative mind, and his uncanny ability to develop positive relationships with our guys,” Zupka continued. “In the program's 47 years, Coach Minderman is just the sixth coach in school history. We've got another good one at MHS and the future of the program is in excellent hands!"

In addition to his Milford coaching duties, Minderman has also earned experience on the club scene with both Cincinnati United Soccer Club and Cincinnati United Premier. Away from soccer, he recently began a role as an Education Program Specialist with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce after several years working within the Milford school district. He received his BS in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati.

“To be given the opportunity to take over leadership of this program is a dream,” Minderman said. “I have known for a long time that this was the destination for me; it then became about demonstrating I was the right fit for the job. I feel a connection with the program and more importantly the community that makes up the program. This is very important for me because I want to work in service of people I feel connected to.

“As we start this new journey, I carry the belief that it is not so important what people think of me when I come in, it's much more important what people will think when I leave,” he continued. “I intend on being here for as long as possible. I love this program and my intention is to fight for it, to take care of it, and to push hard to elevate it to new heights.”
