About The Preschool

Milford Exempted Village School District’s Preschool offers an integrated preschool program for students aged three to five. The program is a mix of eight students with special needs and eight typically developing students. Our classes follow the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning Content Standards. Milford Preschool is located at 1039 State Route 28.

Children must turn age three by September 30, 2021 to be eligible for the 2021-2022 school year. Children who enroll as typically developing students must be toilet trained with current immunizations, or a signed waiver,  to be eligible for enrollment. The three-year old program is a  morning session Monday through Thursday (9:05 am- 11:35 am).  The four-year old program is an afternoon session Monday through Thursday(1:05 pm-3:35 pm).  The cost for Milford Preschool is $59.00 per week.

For students that reside outside the Milford School District,  Milford Preschool follows the MEVSD Open Enrollment Policy. 

 

Preschool children eligible for special education

Milford Preschool is an integrated preschool. An integrated program is a model in which typically developing children would be enrolled with students who have identified special needs. The goal of the integrated classroom is to provide an enriched learning environment for all children during their preschool years. 

"Itinerant services" for a preschool child who is eligible for special education services means services provided by intervention specialists or related services personnel which occur in the setting where the child, the child and parent(s), or the child and caregiver are located. The Itinerant Teacher will work with the child and parents or teachers for a minimum of one hour per week to monitor the child’s progress on I.E.P. goals and to help the parents or teachers continue activities throughout the week. These strategies and activities can then be used in the child’s daily environment. This model is supported by the Ohio Department of Education as part of the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) continuum for preschool.
