Share Feedback on the May Bond Issue

The Milford Board of Education held a work session on May 23 and discussed the bond issue and developed a plan to move forward. After the defeat of the May issue, we know we must listen and engage the community in the planning process.

Thoughtexchange

The first phase of our plan is to listen to our school community through an open and interactive conversation using Thoughtexchange. This process gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts about the bond issue, and review and rate the thoughts being shared by others. Thoughtexchange allows the district to identify common themes and determine what is most important to our community.

About the process

  • Share your thoughts in 300 characters or less.

  • Your thoughts will be shared exactly as you entered them.

  • Your thoughts and ratings will be been by all other participants but your identity will be kept private.

  • Comments will be moderated. Please be respectful and do not name specific individuals in your comments. We will not post comments (positive or negative) that include a person’s name.

  • Complete this exchange by Monday, June 10, at 8 p.m.

  • You can add and rate thoughts at your own pace until the exchange ends.

Community Advisory Team

The district is also creating a Community Advisory Team (CAT) to review our Master Facility Plan and come up with a variety of options. The team will have approximately 50 people from a cross-section of the community: business owners, senior citizens, parents and non-parents, board members, students, staff, and alumni.

The CAT team will begin meeting in June and will meet 4-5 times in the summer. The team will study the current facility plans and needs of the district, hear from industry experts, and then discuss options and come to a consensus on a plan to present to the Board. The CAT team will also look at feedback from the Thoughtexchange in their planning process. Finally, the district will host community sessions to receive further feedback on this plan.
