State Test Results

Posted on: December 4, 2015

Current 9th and 10th Grade Families

In the next few days you will be receiving your student's state test results from the assessments completed last spring. Milford students participated in the PARCC assessments in English/Language Arts and/or Math I/II.  Students can earn up to 5 points on each of these end-of-course assessments which count toward the 18 points needed for one of the pathways to graduation. The envelope you receive will include a Score Report from the Ohio Department of Education. This report breaks down the subject studied according to the skills and knowledge covered on the test. It shows where your student is doing well and where he or she needs more help. If you would like more information check out these resources from the Ohio Department of Education: Ohio's State Tests FAQ ; What do the scores mean

The envelope you receive will also include a letter from Milford High School describing the graduation requirements. You can review our videos from last year for the Class of 2018 and Class of 2019 if you would like a refresher. PDF documents describing the graduation requirements can also be found on the School Counseling Website under: New Graduation Requirements.
Students will take the next round of state testing in mid-April of this school year. But these will not be PARCC tests. This year’s tests will come from a different testing company that is working closely with Ohio teachers. Tests for this year have been shortened and will be given in one testing window.
Any questions you have regarding your child's State Graduation Tests scores can be directed to Liz Emmons at or 513-576-2204.
