Reminder: Submit your Decision for Return to Learning by July 29

Posted on: July 23, 2020

The following email was sent to all Milford Families July 23:

Dear Milford Families,

This is a follow up to the email we sent last week with our Return to Learning Plan Options.

Please make sure that you fill out the Decision Form by July 29 and indicate which plan you are choosing for your student(s) and indicate if transportation is needed. It is very important that we receive your decision by July 29.

Please note: if you filled out the Return to Learning Decision Form, thank you! We received your response and once the decision form is closed July 29 we will send an email confirmation within a few days.  You can expect an email confirmation at the beginning of August.

There are two Return to Learning Options:

  • In-Person Learning: Students will be in-person and in buildings daily with safety protocols in place. The goal of the safety protocols is to keep school buildings open as long as possible.

  • Eagle Online: Students who choose online learning will not attend in-person. This completely-remote learning model goes above the virtual learning curriculum that students and families experienced while schools were closed this past spring. With Eagle Online Milford teachers will provide direct instructions.

We held a Q&A session last evening and those questions have been placed on our FAQ page on our website. Click here to see the FAQ page.

We want to emphasize that the 2020-2021 school year will look like no other school year. School simply cannot look like it did before March 2020.  To create our Return to Learning Plan, we engaged teachers and administrators, we worked closely with Milford Education Association’s leadership, and we collaborated with the Clermont County Public Health Department. Our goal is to provide the safest, most feasible options for our 6,600 students and 700 staff members and to make the return to school as safe as possible. There will be inconveniences along the way and no plan will please everyone.

There are many unknowns for the Milford School Community right now. All of the experts in our district are working diligently to finalize plans for both the In-Person and Eagle Online options. This is a dynamic, fluid plan. We ask for your grace and patience.

Sincerely,

Nancy House, Superintendent

John Spieser, Incoming Superintendent, effective August 1, 2020
