New Principal Named for Pattison

At its meeting on April 18, the Milford Board of Education approved Tiffany Selm as the next principal of Pattison Elementary effective August 1, 2019. Mrs. Selm replaces Melissa Borger who is retiring at the end of the school year.
“I am beyond grateful and thrilled for this opportunity of being the next Principal at Pattison Elementary. It is a dream come true! As a Milford resident, I look forward to continue serving the Milford community in a greater capacity by caring for the staff, parents, and students at Pattison,” Mrs. Selm said.
Since 2015, Mrs. Selm has been the assistant principal at Sherwood Elementary in the Forest Hills School District. She has also served as the District Coordinator of ESL and Gifted Services for Mason City Schools for one year and Assistant Principal at Summit Elementary in Forest Hills for three years. Prior to her administrative experience, she was a 5th-grade teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary in Indiana.
Mrs. Selm has her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University and her Masters of Educational Administration from the University of Indianapolis.
More than 65 educators applied for the position. A team of administrators, Pattison teachers and staff, and parents were on the selection committee.
“Mrs. Selm’s enthusiasm and passion were evident throughout the interview process. We believe her dynamic personality, experience, and strong leadership skills will be a tremendous asset to Pattison Elementary,” said John Spieser, Milford’s Director of Human Resources.
