McCormick Principal Named Coordinator of Special Education

On April 2, the Milford School District announced that Mr. Donald Baker will become the district’s new Coordinator of Special Education beginning in the 2018-2019 school year.
Mr. Baker began his Milford career as assistant principal of Boyd E. Smith Elementary and then was named principal of Charles L. Seipelt Elementary. He was assigned to McCormick Elementary when the building opened in the fall of 2003. During his years at McCormick, Mr. Baker assisted in the research and development of our district’s autism-behavioral units. The support of special education students and their families is a passion that he will carry into the position of Coordinator of Special Education.
The district has already begun the search for a replacement for Mr. Baker. We will include McCormick teachers, parent representatives, and members of our administrative team on this search committee. We will work diligently to find a candidate to continue the academic growth and positive school community you have experienced under Mr. Baker’s leadership.
Our goal is to name a new principal by our April Board of Education meeting and hope to introduce the new principal to the McCormick community before the end of the current school year.
